Sending Letters, KKB Explains Ways to Free Pilot Susi Air

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Armed Criminal Group (KKB) left a letter with a Susi Air pilot who was landing in Jila District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua, Thursday (3/16/23). The letter was given to a foreign pilot with the initials LR who is a citizen of South Africa.

Head of Damai Cartenz Operations, Police Senior Superintendent Faizal Ramadhani revealed that the process of submitting the letter was also documented in a video obtained by security forces.

"Today we received information that a pilot from Susi Air who was on a flight from Timika to Jila District, then from one of the KKBs left a letter," said Faizal Ramadhani in Mimika, Friday (3/17/23).

In the video, a person suspected of being the leader of the KKB group can be seen giving a letter which was brought in a red plastic bag and given to LR. Faizal Ramadhani said that from the video one of the KKB members was seen holding a rifle.

He emphasized that during the handover process, the pilot was not subjected to harsh treatment and was simply released after the letter was given. The incident is still under investigation.

"There was no detention, after the letter was given they released the pilot who has now returned to Timika," he explained.
