The evacuation team carried out weather modification to reach the emergency landing location in the forest of Kerinci mountains, following the helicopter crash that carried the Jambi Regional Police entourage, including the Head of Jambi Regional Police. However, the team has encountered several challenges, including the bad weather condition.
“The weather modification is carried out to eliminate fog and to enable clear visibility of the location, without which the evacuation team is not able to reach the landing location,” stated the Chief of INP at INP Headquarters on Tuesday (21/2/23).
On the ground, the team is working to open additional land routes to anticipate the possibility of carrying out a land evacuation, he added.
He ensured that the team would carry out the evacuation as soon as possible, given the wounded require immediate medical aid.
“Our wounded colleagues are our top priority, so we have been mapping the nearest and safest route to carry out the evacuation. We ask your prayers for a safe and successful evacuation,” he concluded.
