The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) informed that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 occurred in the Southwest of Garut Regency, West Java on Saturday (12/3) at 16.49 WIB.
"#Earthquake Mag: 6.4, 03-Dec-2022 16:49:42WIB, Loc: 7.49LS, 107.58BT (46 km Southwest GARUT-JABAR), Depth: 106 Km," wrote BMKG on their official Twitter account @infoBMKG.
BMKG stated that the data was still an initial information obtained several minutes after the shock occurred. Earthquake parameters may change after re-analysis by seismologists.
According to information, the earthquake this afternoon was felt in several areas of Jakarta, Bogor, Sukabumi, Cianjur and Bandung.
Regarding information on damage or casualties due to this afternoon's earthquake, no further information has been provided.
