Police Evacuates the Victims of Flood and Landslide in Lampung

Way Kanan Sub-Regional Police together with Lampung Regional Police, Indonesian Military, Lampung National SAR Agency, Way Kanan Regional Disaster Management Agency, and the local community are continuing their efforts in searching and evacuating the victims of flood and landslide happened recently in the Way Kanan Regency.

Over the course of three days, the joint team and the local community of Sari Village used basic equipment, including a generator and a hoe, in their search for the missing victims.

Police Superintendent Teddy Rachesna, the Head of Way Kanan Sub-Regional Police, said that two individuals were buried by the landslide, namely Ngadiyanto, 65-year-old, and Siran, 62-year-old. The two victims was already dead upon being evacuated.

The victim Siran was buried by the landslide while working on a community clean water pipe repair project with residents of Pati Hamlet in Sumber Sari Village on Sunday (3/12/23).

“The victim’s family has accepted and forgiven the situation. The victim’s body has been handed over to the family for burial at the Sumber Sari Village Cemetery. We pray together that the deceased will be accepted by God and find peace in the afterlife,” said the police chief.
