President Jokowi Leads Limited Meeting in Papua

Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Papua. President Jokowi led a limited meeting (ratas) in Papua with the Indonesian National Police (INP), the Indonesian Military, the State Intelligence Agency, the Regional Leadership Communication Forum, and the relevant stakeholders on Monday (20/3/23). The meeting served as an opportunity for the President to listen directly to the progress of all policy programs taking place in the region, as stated by the Chief of the INP General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

“Today we just held a limited meeting led by the President with the Indonesian Military Commander, the Chief of Papua Regional Police, the Regional Military Commander, as well as the Chief of the State Intelligence Agency and the Executive Office of the President to listen directly the progress of all policy programs,” he said.

During the meeting, the President gave several directives, including the need to integrate programs between the central and regional governments. He emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration and ensuring that all stakeholders were working towards a common goal.

The president also stressed the need for harmony among the programs to improve the welfare in the Papua region. The Chief of INP echoed this statement, assuring that the INP and Indonesian Military are fully committed to overseeing all government policies to advance the “Land of Cendrawasih”.

The Indonesian Military Commander Admiral Yudo Margono reiterated the Indonesian Military’s commitment to supporting the INP in carrying out law enforcement operations.

“The Indonesian Military troops in Papua are assisting the INP. The deployment of troops, including both organic and external units, remains unchanged. We are assisting INP to enforce the law and to protect the land and sea borders,” the Commander said.
