Aiding the Kalibaru Flood Victims, East Java Police Chief Provides Food Supplies

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Banyuwangi.  East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto, distributes food packages to flood victims in Kalibaru, Banyuwangi, Tuesday (8/11/22). The East Java Regional Police Chief said that this was a part of the National Police duty in servicing the community while also support those who are stuck by unfortunate events.

"This is our concern, our sympathy for the disaster victims in Kalibaru," explained the Two-Star General, quoted from Liputan6. The Police Chief also hoped that the flood-affected people can feel the benefit of the aid.

There are six villages affected by the flood. However, the worst flood happened in Kalibaru Wetan Village.

"From the reports that we received, about 38 houses were damaged due to flood. Soon, we will try to coordinate with the provincial or district government officials," explained the Kapolda.

The East Java Police Chief also appealed to the public to always be vigilant and careful for mutual safety, especially those who live near riverbanks and hills, because they are prone to flooding and landslides.

"We also invite the public to take care of their environment. To take care the areas that are likely to cause landslides and floods," concluded the former South Sumatra Police Chief.
