A man with the initials HM (30), from Kenongo Village, Jabung District, Malang Regency, raped his neighbor who is still a minor. The rape happened near sugarcane plantation in Jabung District, Friday (12/16).
Head of Malang Police Public Relations, Iptu Ahmad Taufik, explained HM was secured after the victim's mother reported the sexual abuse incident to the police. After receiving the report, police immediately processed the case and secure the suspect.
Quoted from Republika.co.id, the Head of Public Relations of the Malang Police added that the sexual abuse that befell IA (14) was discovered after the girl told her mother about the incident. The victim said that on Friday (12/16) morning after school, she crossed the path of a sugarcane plantation in Kenongo Village.
Then, suddenly HM appeared and grabbed the girl and covered her mouth so she would not scream. Withouth hesitation, as he was possessed by lust, HM then raped the girl.
Hearing what had happened to her child, the family reported the incident to the police. Hearing the case, police immediately went to the location to track down HM and able to secure HM to Malang Police HQ.
In front of the police, HM admits all his wrongdoings. Now the suspect will be charged under article 81 or article 82 of the Child Protection Act. According to that article, the suspect faces a minimum prison sentence of five years to a maximum of 15 years in prison
"Not only that, the suspect HM is also threatened with a maximum fine of five billion rupiah," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Malang Police.
