Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo pledged on Sunday (2/19/23) that the Soccer Anti-Mafia Task Force will take stern action against the score mafia as an attempt to create better and fair play soccer in Indonesia.

He emphasized that the INP has experience in managing the task force  in the 2018-2020 period that brought 18 people, including soccer organization representatives, players and intermediaries.

There are 15 branches of the Soccer Anti-Mafia Task Force across the country at present.

“We will continue to strengthen the team in accordance with the policy of  the new PSSI (Football Association of Indonesia) Chairman to involve the Task Force,” the chief said.

The INP has played its part in supporting the establishment of soccer competition in Indonesia by, among other things, inviting experts from Coventry University in England to provide competition management training and issuing the Police Regulation (Perpol) No. 10/2022 on Securing the Arrangement of Sports Competitions, he explained.

It is expected that the INP is able to provide protection and security for soccer competition to meet the standards set by FIFA such as conducting risk assessment and management, including the safety of spectators and players.

“In principle, the INP is ready to support and eradicate the perpetrators of the soccer mafia,” he asserted.
