Welcoming the 75th anniversary of Bhayangkara, Gorontalo Regional Police distributed 1000 packages of nine-basic-needs (sembako) and 5000 masks to the people of Gorontalo. A ceremony at Gorontalo Regional Police was held before the aid was distributed, Friday (06/25/2021).
Chief of Gorontalo Regional Police Police Inspector General Akhmad Wiyagus, in his speech, said the distribution of nine-basic-needs was police’s concern to people who affected by Corona Outbreak as their income is decreasing.
This social activity is routinely carried out every year to celebrate Bhayangkara Day. Indonesia National Police keep lending their hands to community even during the pandemic.
"We do this to serve the community while supporting local government programs that is along with the theme of 75th Bhayangkara Day this year, that is precise transformation of Indonesia National Police to support the acceleration of Covid-19 handling for healthy community and national economic recovery towards the progress of Indonesia," Chief of Gorontalo Regional Police explained.
Based on the data from June 23, 2021, globally 222 countries have been exposed to Covid-19, and so far Covid-19 cases in Indonesia is still increasing. Also, a new variant of Covid 19 is starting to develop in Indonesia.
According to him, extra efforts are required as well as community’s role in dealing with this pandemic.
