Visitation of Noken Community Development Unit of Sugapa to Rev Kingmi Tigamajigi and Hitadiipa of Joparo Village

Persuasive and humane approach to the community figures keeps being conducted by Noken Community Development Unit (Binmas Noken) to prevent things that may disturb security in Sugapa district of Intan Jaya regency, due to threats from the KKSB group led by Undius Kogoya towards security forces and non-natives.

Binmas Noken of Intan Jaya builds great relationships with the Christian religious figure of Joparo village of Sugapa district, Rev Barnabas Kobogau. This is seen when Rev Barnabas visited the Sugapa Sectoral Police on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 09.00.

Rev Barnabas met the Binmas Noken personnel such as Police Inspector 2nd Class Arisandi Tancona, Police Inspector 2nd Class Engel Mayor, Police Sub-Inspector 2nd Class Mansur Udin, and Police Brigadier 1st Class Agung Purnama, to ask the situation in Joparo village and how the public activities in Joparo village of Sugapa district, Intan Jaya regency. The visit is an effort to prevent Joparo village from the provocation of false issues and not being involved in activities that may harm themselves.

Towards the Rev Barnabas Kobogau, Regional Coordinator of Binmas Noken, addressed the news of Sem Kobogau, who is missing. Mr Barnabas Kobogau as the family and relatives of Sem Kobogau, was asked that this problem could be handed over to the Armed Forces-Police. The Military Police is now investigating an Armed Forces personnel and, if proved guilty, the person would be subjected to sanctions in accordance with military law. Therefore they hope that the family and the community to wait for the investigation results and could hold themselves not to conduct things that violate the law.

If there are any problems at the Joparo village that may trigger tribal/civil war, Binmas Noken asked the reverend as the religious figure could cooperate together with other figures to solve the problem.

Regarding the situation in Joparo village of Sugapa district, Rev Barnabas Kobogau said, "The situation is safe and conducive. People conduct normal activities such as house building, fencing, farming. But the Joparo village is also the crossing and pit stop of the inner groups. Regarding the problem of Sem Kobogau, we as the family will not conduct anything that violates the law, and we handed this matter over to the Military Police of the Armed Forces".

The visitation was ended by giving basic necessities package to Rev Barnabas Kobogau as a thank you gift for his voluntary and care to maintain conducive security and order.
