Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Tangerang City Police succeeded in revealing the production house to manufacture Ciu (type alcoholic beverages) at Bojong Shophouse, Raya Pemda Tigaraksa Street, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency.
This was revealed by the Head of Public Relations Division of the Banten Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Shinto Silitonga, during the Press Conference with the Chief of Tangerang City Police, Police Grand Commissioner Wahyu Sri Bintoro, at the shophouse where the Ciu is made.
"Today, the Banten Regional Police and the Tangerang City Police have exposed cases of production and trade in food ingredients that are not following safety standards and do not have a distribution permit. We know that these foodstuffs are in the form of alcoholic beverages known as the Ciu trade language," said the Head of Public Relations Division.
Head of Public Relations Division explained that the initial chronology of the Mobile Investigation Team of Tangerang City Police Criminal Investigation Unit received information from the public and then carried out an investigation in one of the shophouses in Bojong Village Cikupa District. After that, one R4 Grand Max type vehicle unit left the shop, followed by the Mobile Investigation team. Once on Raya Tigaraksa Street, the vehicle was stopped, and a search was carried out. It turned out that there were 50 boxes in it, each containing 24 bottles of Ciu of various sizes. Then the development was carried out into the shophouse. It turned out that some of the production tools have been secured.
The evidence that was secured from the shophouse was 4 distillation furnaces, 4 distillation pans, 95 filled fermentation drums, 15 empty fermentation drums, 25 gas cylinders, three gas stoves, three boxes of yeast, two blower fans, ten jerry cans from distillation, 1,175 Ciu-filled bottles are ready for distribution.
Head of Public Relations Division also revealed that suspect BA (35), from Penjaringan, North Jakarta, initially rented a three-storey shophouse for one year in Bojong Village, Cikupa, for a convection business. Then, after being closed about four months ago, the suspect started to produce Ciu-type alcoholic drinks in this shophouse.
"For the ground floor of the shophouse by the suspect, it was made to store the basic ingredients for making Ciu, namely yeast, black sticky rice and sugar in a large drum. Then these basic ingredients will be distilled into a refining furnace on the second floor of the shophouse. Finally, ready for distribution, it will be put into bottles and stored on the third floor of the shophouse," said the Head of Public Relations Division.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Tangerang City Police added that, for the type of Ciu produced and sold by the suspect, there are three types with the characteristics of a bottle with a red stamp with a 40 per cent alcohol content. A bottle with a green stamp with an alcohol content of 35 per cent. A bottle with a white stamp with an alcohol content of 30 per cent.
"In a day, an average suspect can produce 20 boxes of Ciu, and each box contains 24 bottles for 15 thousand and 11 thousand per bottle. Thus, the economic profit that the suspect managed to get in one day reached 6 to 7 million," said the Chief of City Police.
The Chief of City Police also explained that the suspect would be charged with Article 140 in conjunction with Article 142 of Law No. RI. 18 of 2012 concerning Food with the threat of imprisonment for two years and Article 62 of the Republic of Indonesia Law no. 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, with imprisonment for five years.
