Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Kabareskrim) Pol. Commissioner General Agus Andrianto conveyed that the National Police welcomed the opportunity for cooperation between Indonesia and Panama, especially between police institutions of the two countries.

Agus hopes that the police institutions of the two countries could work together to discuss the prevention of transnational crime.

"There are various kinds of issues that are of common concern, such as drug trafficking and human trafficking," said Pol. Commissioner General Agus Andrianto in a written statement, Wednesday (07/28/2021).

Then, Agus continued, Indonesia, which is known to be an expert in dealing with illicit drug trafficking, especially the type of methamphetamine, could exchange methods of dealing with it with the Panamanian police, which mostly trades cocaine.

"So that these two different things can be exchanged that is its knowledge," said Agus.

Previously, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Panama Sukmo Harsono made an official visit or courtesy visit to the Deputy Minister of Public Security of Panama HE Ivor Axel Pitti.

During the meeting, Sukmo discussed several things, ranging from the bilateral cooperation that had been carried out between Indonesia and Panama to exploring potential cooperation between the National Police and the Panamanian Police.

"We discussed efforts to further improve relations between the two countries, especially the Indonesian police institution and the Panamanian police," said Sukmo, Tuesday (07/26/2021).
