Tribratanews.polri.go.id –Jayapura.Chief of PR Task Force of Nemangkawi, Police Grand Commissioner Kamal Mustofa, on August 9, 2021, addressed the press release regarding the development of the case of Victor Yemeio, the provocateur of the 2019 Jayapura riots.
The release stated that the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Papua Regional Police investigators has moved to the second investigation phase of the suspect and evidence handover (virtually) of the Papua riots in September 2019.
The second stage was conducted after the criminal file of Victor was declared complete or P21. This handover was received by the General Prosecutor of Jayapura State Attorney's Office.
As information, the joint force of Nemangkawi Task Force and Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of Papua Regional Police arrested one of the people in the wanted list of 2019 riots of Jayapura, Victor Frederik Yemeio (38), in front of Daihatsu car dealer store of Tanah Hitam, Abepura district, Jayapura, on Sunday, May 9, 2021.
Chief of PR and Press Agency of Papua Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said that the suspect is now at the Prison of Mobile Brigade Unit of Papua Region while waiting for further instruction from the general prosecutor.
Due to his actions, the perpetrator is subjected to Article 106 in relation to Article 87 of Indonesian Criminal Code and/or Article 110 of Indonesian Criminal Code and/or Article 14 paragraph 91 and 92 and Article 15 of Law No. 1 of 1946 about Criminal Law Regulation and Article 66 of Law No. 24 of 2009 about State Flag, Language, Coat-of-Arms, and National Anthem and/or Article 106 of Indonesian Criminal Code and/or Article 187 of Indonesian Criminal Code and/or Article 365 of Indonesian Criminal Code and/or Article 170 paragraph 1 of Indonesian Criminal Code and/or Article 2 of Emergency Law No. 12 of 1951 in relation to Article 64 of Indonesian Criminal Code.
