Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 of the Indonesian National Police again arrested five suspected terrorists from the Jemaah Islamiyah group on August 16-18, 2021.
Head of the Public Information Division of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan explained that the five were targets who had not been caught from the arrest by the Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 last week.
"With this arrest, 53 terrorist suspects have been arrested by Densus 88 (since 12 August 2021)," said Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan in Jakarta, Thursday (19/08/21).
Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 arrested the five terrorist suspects in East Java, South Sulawesi, Maluku and North Sumatra.
Head of the Public Information Division of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police said that the five suspected terrorists were still under investigation until now.
Previously, Special Detachment 88 had arrested 48 terrorist suspects, the largest being from the Jemaah Islamiyah group in 11 provinces in Indonesia on August 12-15, 2021.
