The Chief of East Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Nico Afinta together with Head of East Java Regional Intelligence Agency, First Marshal of the Indonesian National Army Rudy Iskandar monitored the implementation of the second dose of vaccination for students at Public Secondary School 1 (SMPN 1) Surabaya. In this activity, the Chief of East Java Regional Police hopes to open face-to-face learning activities soon.
"As an alumnus of SMPN 1, I came here to give encouragement and encouragement to younger siblings who are currently studying at SMPN 1 to carry out vaccinations," said the Chief of East Java Regional Police at SMPN 1 Surabaya, Pacar Street Surabaya, Thursday (12/8/2021).
The Chief of East Java Regional Police appreciated the enthusiastic students getting the vaccine. It helps the government in realizing herd immunity or group immunity in handling Covid-19.
"Specifically for SMPN 1, I am proud to be here to meet the principal and teachers. I see that all of the younger siblings are very enthusiastic in carrying out vaccinations," he added.
The Chief of East Java Regional Police said that in Surabaya, students' vaccination is also being promoted in several public or private schools. He also hopes that with so many teachers and students being vaccinated, face-to-face schools can reopen.
"Hopefully, with this vaccination, we can all continue teaching and learning activities that are planned to be face-to-face if all teachers and students have been vaccinated," hoped the Chief of East Java Regional Police.
"For East Java itself, we together with the East Java Provincial Government, Mr Commander of Regional Military, Head of East Java Regional Intelligence Agency are promoting vaccinations. We ask that all people participate and want to be vaccinated as a form of handling Covid-19," he added.
Meanwhile, the vaccination organizer, Head of East Java Regional Intelligence Agency, First Marshal of the Indonesian National Army Rudy Iskandar said that his party carried out three phases two vaccination activities. Namely at SMPN 1 Surabaya, SMAN 5 Surabaya and door to door at the Tembok Dukuh Surabaya.
"In this activity, we provide 3,800 vaccines, and we carry out follow-up vaccines not only in the city of Surabaya but in Islamic boarding schools in East Java. Because I think Islamic boarding have students from various regions and provinces. That is our target from Intelligence Agency. We have carried out this activity in Sidoarjo and Trenggalek," concluded the Head of East Java Regional Intelligence Agency.
