Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Surabaya. Ahead of the Implementation of Emergency Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) that will start on July 3 to July 20, 2021, Deputy Chief of East Java Regional Police, Police Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo, Commander of Brawijaya Military Area Command V, Major General Suharyanto, and Deputy Governor of East Java Province Emil Elistianto Dardak led troops deployment ceremony for Emergency PPKM in East Java region. The ceremony was held at Makodam V Brawijaya Field, Friday (07/02/2021).

Commander of Brawijaya Military Area Command V explained current situation in East Java is quite dangerous. Yesterday the addition of positive people was the highest since Covid-19 pandemic hit Indonesia at the beginning of 2020. The recovery rate is above 300 but also many people have died. East Java is the contributor to the high mortality rate in Indonesia. This troop ceremony was held simultaneously in East Java region, in Greater Surabaya, Malang Raya, Madiun Raya, the Horseshoe area and in Mojokerto. After the ceremony, there will be assignment to areas in all regencies/cities in East Java.

Although the instructions from the Ministry of Home Affairs have not yet been issued, East Java government has taken policy beforehand, while waiting for the rules to be enforced. Of the 38 regencies/cities in East Java, it is divided into two levels. For level three there are 27 regencies/cities and later members will be assigned at Military District Command and Resort Police with total 50 members. Meanwhile, 11 other regencies/cities are in level four. For level 4, he said, the level is more serious or the spread of Covid-19 is higher. And later members will go directly to the RT (neighborhood level)/RW (hamlet level), with different total troops adjusted to the different threats of the spread of Covid-19, Commander of Brawijaya Military Area Command V added.

"Later on, this operation will be carried out starting tomorrow, July 3 to 20, 2021. However, it is possible to extend if Covid-19 spread is considered not successful, and the task is to strengthen the four pillars of Emergency Micro PPKM in an area. The four pillars are Village Leader, Doctors at Community Health Center (Puskesmas), Bhabinkamtibmas (community police officer) and Babinsa (NCO law enforcement officer)," concluded Commander of Brawijaya Military Area Command V.
