Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror team from Indonesia National Police has arrested a terrorist suspect in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra. They arrested the suspect on July 1, 2021.
Head of General Information Section of Public Relations Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police, Police Grand Commissioner, Ahmad Ramadhan said the terrorist suspect’s initial is BA.
"The arrest by Special Detachment 88 Anti-terror Task Force of Indonesia National Police for North Sumatera Regional Police,” Head of General Information Section of Public Relations Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police explained, Friday (07/02/2021).
Head of General Information Section of Public Relations Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police explained the terrorist suspect, BA, was involved in shooting training with members of Jemaah Islamiah (JI) in 2015. Then he is also known to have role as the keeper of training weapons since 2014 and served as Chairperson of Solemnity Rodifah Isobah Barat Jemaah Islamiah in 2016.
"Since 2017 he has been elected as chairperson of the Attoyibah cooperative, which is a cooperative owned by Rodifah Isobah Jemaah Islamiah and as an investor in Attoyibah cooperative," Head of General Information Section of Public Relations Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police explained.
Searches have also been carried out in number of places suspected of being used as locations for storing evidence of terrorism.
"Of course, examination and interrogation will be carried out in developing other suspects," Head of General Information Section of Public Relations Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police explained.
