South Sumatra Regional Police Personnel Trained for Corpse Handling and Funerals for Covid-19 Patients

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Palembang. South Sumatra Regional Police held training on corpse handling and funerals procedures on patients with Covid-19. Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police, Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri S, said that this event is held as an anticipation measure if cases are rapidly rising and health workers are overwhelmed.

Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri S explains that this training is a form of preparation if a significant spike in new cases is happening.

"If the existing hospital officers are tired and overwhelmed, Regional Police personnel that attend this training could assist the corpse handling and funerals for Covid-19-exposed bodies in accordance to the SOP", Chief of South Sumatra Regional Police said.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner dr. Mansuri explains the way to handle the bodies exposed with Covid-19.

Police Commissioner dr. Mansuri teaches the practice of burying bodies exposed by Covid-19 together with the funeral team from Palembang.

"These training participants can follow these activities well, so it could be equipped when they have to take care of Covid-19-exposed bodies, mainly in South Sumatra", Police Commissioner dr. Mansuri concludes.
