Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Makassar. Thousands of Makassar State University (UNM) Civitas participated in Covid-19 vaccination at the courtyard of the Phinisi Tower, AP Pettarani Street, Makassar City.
Mass vaccination was held by Health and Medical Unit of South Sulawesi Regional Police and UNM. Deputy Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Brigadier General Halim Pagarra and several High Rank Officers of Bhayangkara Corps, as well as the UNM leaders attended the event.
Deputy Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Brigadier General Halim Pagarra stated the vaccination was attended by students, alumni, family of employees, general public, online motorcycle taxi drivers and survivors of disabilities. Total of 5,638 people took part in the vaccination.
Deputy Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police also explained in the activity entitled Independence Vaccination, Makassar City Population and Civil Registry Agency also involved.
"To assist the administration of data collection if any participant does not have an ID card. Because earlier there were 50 participants who did not have ID card, because they were still underage," he explained.
This activity aims to maximize the handling of Covid-19. Even so, Halim advised people to continue to apply health protocols, even though they have been vaccinated.
"Especially maintaining distance, using masks, washing hands, not creating crowds and limiting activities. If this is done, we are optimistic we can suppress virus transmission," Deputy Chief of South Sulawesi Regional Police concluded.
