Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of Riau Regional Police arrested 4 drug traffickers who acted as couriers for the drug delivery. From the arrest, the police managed to secure 108 kilograms (kg) of crystal methamphetamine packaged in Chinese tea in the Bengkalis area.
Riau Police Chief, Pol. General Inspector Agung Setya Imam Effendi, explained that the arrests began when the Riau Regional Police Special Team for Drugs and Drugs received information that large quantities of methamphetamine would be shipped in Bengkalis Regency.
Then the Director of the Narcotics, Pol. Inspector General Victor Siagian immediately dispatched a Special Team to conduct an investigation in the Bengkalis area.
Initially, the team managed to secure 38 kilograms on Paus Street, Pekanbaru City, then the team carried out developments and managed to secure 22 kilograms on Labersa Street Pekanbaru, which were carried by couriers with the initials BO and BY.
“Furthermore, 48 kilograms were re-secured in Bukit Batu, Bengkalis. So the total is 108 kilograms. Coming from Bukit Batu in the Bengkalis area, which was brought from Malaysia to be circulated in Pekanbaru, "explained the Riau Regional Police Chief.
Then further development was carried out by the Special Team for the Director of Narcotics of Riau Regional Police, it turned out that the methamphetamine was controlled by two prisoners from inside the prison.
"BO and BY obtained this item in collaboration with two people with the initials RO and RI from Bangkinang and Gobah prisons, our cooperation with prisons are good, so we can easily dismantle drug networks through this collaboration," explained the two-star general.
The Riau Regional Police Chief said that there was still one syndicate with the distribution of 17 kilograms of shabu which was mandated by the Dumai National Police some time ago.
"This cannot be separated from the disclosure of 17 kg made by the Dumai National Police, 17 kg who was arrested in Dumai, that the goods were ordered by people in Pekanbaru," explained the Riau Regional Police Chief.
