Tribratanews.polri.go.id. National Armed Forces Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo inspect the mass vaccination program at Balikpapan Sport and Convention Center in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Friday (08/06/2021).

The implementation of this mass vaccination is a collaboration between the National Armed Forces and National Police of Balikpapan, involving the Midwifery Academy Borneo at Medistra Hospital, Ummi Aisiyah and the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Balikpapan.

"Just now, I and the Commander in Chief did a direct check related to vaccination activities where today there are 3,600 vaccine doses. The first 2,000 vaccines and 1,600 second vaccines," said Sigit in a written statement.

Sigit said, until now Indonesia is still struggling to deal with the COVID pandemic, the numbers are still quite high.

East Kalimantan, said Sigit, has the highest positive number in the Kalimantan region. So it needs a strategy and handling that is quite massive.

"East Kalimantan has the highest position in the Kalimantan region, so of course there need to be strategic and steps in accordance with the orders from the President, which are related to how to continue to enforce and strictly comply with the health procedures," said Sigit.

The former Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of National Police also said that the second step was to accelerate vaccination. He also received information that daily active cases in East Kalimantan were still high.

"From the information we got, 76 percent of the people were hospitalized. Then on average 86-88 percent were treated in centralized isolation areas. And approximately 20 thousand people were treated in isoman (self-isolation)," said Sigit.

On this occasion, the former Banten Regional Police Chief advised the community to want to be treated in an integrated isolation place because the health facilities are much more complete, health workers are also available and the treatment is more intensive.

According to him, people who have not dared to go to an integrated isolation place and choose isoman, of course there are risks, especially if there are symptoms.

"I suggest moving to a place that has been prepared. This is to suppress the rate of growth in the number of COVID-19," said Sigit.

For this reason, the four-star general asked the Village Advisory Officer and Security and Public Order to increase education regarding this issue so that the public would be placed in the integrated isolation that had been prepared.

Then regarding vaccination, Sigit said that gradually in August there was an increase in distribution so that acceleration of vaccination could be achieved quickly. This is done so that public health can recover quickly and the economy could get back on track.

For information, there are 8 regencies/cities in East Kalimantan currently implementing Community Activity Restrictions level 4. For this reason, the National Police Chief hopes that this can be improved by lowering the level so that the community's economy could resume running.

"There are 8 regions in East Kalimantan that have restrictions. Slowly, if it can be repaired, there will be relaxation, so that economic activity will return," said Sigit.

Meanwhile, National Armed Forces Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said the strategy used to reduce the number of COVID-19 in East Kalimantan was three steps.

First implement 3M strictly. Then the implementation of 3T and the third acceleration of vaccination.

"If this is carried out properly and the community supports this program, God willing, East Kalimantan will soon be free from COVID-19," he said.

This mass vaccination activity, which was attended by the Commander in Chief and the National Police Chief, was the third mass vaccination activity to be carried out, after previously being held on July 24, 2021 and July 26, 2021 and having successfully vaccinated 5,042 people with the following details on July 24, 2021 as many as 2,173 people were injected with doses 1 and 26 July 2021 as many as 2,869 people were injected with 2 doses.
