Police Deployed Mounted Units to Secure G20 Summit

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Denpasar. - The National Police deployed its mounted units to patrol during the G20 Summit in Bali on November 15-16, 2022. Horses were chosen by the Police because during the event, it must be free from fossil-based vehicles.

"In addition to electric vehicles used to escort the delegation, we have also prepared horses from the animal police who are tasked with patrolling ring 1 in the Nusa Dua area, Bali," explained the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, in a written statement quoted from humas.polri.go.id., Wednesday (11/9/22).

He revealed that as many as 18 horses were prepared from several regional police throughout Indonesia. These dozen horses will later be used for patrols to ensure security around the hotel area where the delegates are staying. The horses came from the Bali Police, West Java, Yogyakarta and Central Java Police.

“Later on, the horses will be ridden by personnel who have been trained in recent months. In a day, the patrol will be divided into three shifts to patrol around the Nusa Dua area. Two or three months of preparations have been made for personnel to ride horses to patrol around the Nusa Dua area," explained the Two-Star General.

The former Head of Central Kalimantan Police also hopes that with all the preparations made, the G20 Summit in Bali can run well, safely and smoothly. So that it could significantly lift the reputation of Indonesian on the world stage.
