Police Dispatched K9 Personnel to Focus on Searching the Missing

The joint SAR Search Team involving K9 bloodhounds focused on searching the victims buried under landslides due to the earthquake.

"Today the joint SAR team continues to carry out their search on Cijendil Village, Cugenang District, Cianjur Regency," explained the Head of Public Relations of the West Java Regional Police Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo, on Friday (12/2).

Even though the Meteorology Climatology and Geophysics Agency stated that the strength of the earthquake in Cianjur had weakened, it did not rule out the possibility of worst case scenario from happening. For this reason, the community must remain vigilant in the face of this natural disaster.

"Efforts in searching for victims of the landslide will continue to be carried out by members of the National Police and the joint SAR Team, along with K9 bloodhounds until an undetermined time." he said

Commissioner Ibrahim Tompo, explained the joint SAR team, which also consisted of National Search and Rescue personnel and the K9 Police personnel, hoped that the missing would be found sooner.
