West Lombok Police Tighten Their Security in Harbor Ahead of G20 Summit

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Lombok.  The security of the G20 Summit, which will be held in Bali in mid-November 2022, continued to be intensified as the event is approaching even closer. This time, the West Lombok Police have tightened their security from Lembar Harbor, West Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to Padangbai Harbor, Bali. Officers will also patrols ten shortcuts in West Lombok.

“Our monitoring is carried out in a preventive, preemptive, and repressive ways. What we focus on in our security operation is monitoring the entrance for crossings to Bali from Lembar Harbor," explained West Lombok Police Chief AKBP Wirasto Adi Nugroho, as quoted by ntmcpolri.info, Tuesday (1/11/22).

AKBP Wirasto Adi Nugroho explained that 40 personnel have been deployed to provide security in the port area ahead of the G20 Summit. The police also founf ten shortcuts in Sekotong District, West Lombok.

“There are ten shortcut tracks and most of them are in the Sekotong area. This shortcuts becomes one of the places we monitor," said the West Lombok Police Chief.

AKBP Wirasto Adi Nugroho emphasized that the West Lombok Police Samapta team also used their two sniffer dogs in the Lembar Harbor area of West Lombok. This is to anticipate the threat of terrorist and radical groups. In fact, his party has trained two sniffer dogs that can track explosives and narcotics.

"We will continue to coordinate with the Bali Police to back up their security for the G20 Summit in Bali. If we found any repressive actions or legal cases in the field or in the waters, we will enforce the law firmly," he said.
