Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Greater Jakarta Metro. National Police arrested two sellers of oxygen cylinders and regulators above the highest retail price (HET). The two perpetrators each had the initials RDP and WA.
Central Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief Grand Commissioner Attendant Setyo Koes Heriyanto said the modus operandi was to sell the oxygen cylinders for 1 cubic meter, 1.5 cubic meter and 2 cubic meters.
"In addition to the tube, the perpetrators also (sell) the regulator at a price twice the price it should be," explained Central Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief, Thursday (07/15/2021).
The Deputy Chief of the Central Jakarta Metro Police added that the two suspects were arrested in the Mangga Dua area. The suspect WA could not be presented at the press conference because he was sick.
"The turnover received from the profit received from the sale of oxygen cylinders is quite tempting because only a few weeks at the end of June and early July, the turnover received is around IDR. 300 million," explained the Deputy Chief of Central Jakarta Metro Police.
For their actions, the perpetrators are subject to Law Number 4 of 1984 concerning Outbreaks of Infectious Diseases which regulates the Types of Diseases that Can Cause Outbreaks; Outbreak Area; Countermeasures; Rights and obligations; and Criminal Provisions.
"The reason is, of course the first is related to the epidemic, Law Number 4 of 1984 then we also apply related to the Law on health and the Law on consumer protection. If necessary, we will continue with the money laundering law," explained the Deputy Chief of Central Jakarta Metro Police.
