Police Says No Convoys Allowed as Government Preparing Car Free Night

Metro Jaya Police impored to do not do any convoy. Convoy in this context meaning going out to the city with bikes and rented busses to celebrate New Year Eve. Police stated that in Jakarta there will be a Car Free Night for them to enjoy in celebrating New Year Eve, where the streets are only for the pedestrians.

The Head of Metro Jaya Public Relations, Commissioner Endra Zulpan confirmed that the police had asked the community not to do any convoy.

“We asked you not to do any convoy around Sudirman-Thamrin, or in any other places,” says Commissioner Endra Zulpan in his statement quoted from holopis.com, Wednesday (12/21).

He adds that the freedom in Car Free Night from the government, is a gift after the pandemic so that they could celebrate the holidays wholeheartedly.

“For the Operation Lilin Jaya 2022, particularly in Jakarta, we will deploy our 7,421 personnel and prepare 98 security posts. This operation will begun from December 23rd to January 2nd, 2023,” says Commissioner Zulpan in his conclusion.
