Bangka Belitung Police Prepare 1,899 Personnel for December Holiday Season Security Operations

To anticipate crowding ahead of Christmas and New Year Eve, Bangka Belitung Police will depoloy 1,899 personnel for security purposes, Tuesday (12/21). The security operation is part of Operation Lilin Jaya 2022 that held throughout Indonesia. The operation will be held from Tuesday (12/22) to January 2nd, 2023.

Head Ops of Bangka Belitung Police, Commissioner Pontjo Soediantoko, explained that the 1,899 personel consist of, 173 Bangka Belitung Police personnel, 109 Pangkalpinang Police personnel, 95 Bangka Police personnel, 80 Bateng Police personnel, 112, West Bangka Police personnel, 123 South Bangka Police personnel, 78 Belitung Police personnel, 85 East Belitung Police personnel.

“We are also supported from other institutions such as 171 personnel from the Indonesian Military Army, 121 Department of Transportation personnel, 53 Community Protection Unit personnel, 147 personnel from Civil Service Police Unit, 34 personnel from Jasa Raharja, 28 firefighters personnel, 27 personnel from Indonesian Red Cross, 41 personnel from National Search and Rescue Agency, 11 personnel form State Electrical Company, 18 personnel from Angkasa Pura, 10 personnel from Public Works and Public Housing, and 50 personnel from Community Organizations,” says Head Ops of Bangka Belitung Police.

He says that their operation will prioritizing active prevention, detection, and action in a sympathetic, persuasive and humane manner. So that they can ensure people would safe in spending their holiday breaks with their families.

“With a strong cooperation with all related stakeholders and elements of communities by prioritizing pre emptive and preventive measures, it is expected that our operation would run smooth and well,” says Commissioner Pontjo in his conclusion.
