The National Police Traffic Corps prepare traffic management strategies, to ensure safety and smoothnes of the traffic on the upcoming Christmas and New Year Eve, by reviewing the routes from Jakarta to Serang and Jakarta Cirebon to East Java.
“There are still some construction works in the toll roads, and we will anticipate those matters if the work is not done yet when the holiday came. We have coordinated with related stakeholdres and will inform this matter to the media,” says the Head of Traffic Corps Law Enforcement Unit, Brigadier General Aan Suhanan, quoted from ntmcpolri.info, Jakarta, Wednesday (12/21).
Brigadier General Aan Suhanan also said that his party have anticipated and coordinated by the management parties to manage the exit in rest areas.
Regarding the contraflow and one way system, his party stated there are some indicators before employing those system. He explained that if the volume of traffic is exceeding 2,500 in more than an hour, then they will employ contraflow in one lane, and if the number exceed 6,000, then they will employ it in two lanes.
“We appeal to the the people whose going towards Merak port to travel in the day because we predict it would get crowded in night instead. We also reminds you that we are in rainy season, there are possibilities of landslides and flooding. Moreover, stay healthy, and don’t force it if you are feeling unwell. Check you cars or bikes before traveling, check the fuels and check your e-toll balance before making a scene in toll entrance,” says Brigadier General Aan in his appeal.
He also urged the community to comply with the traffic law and health restrictions.
