Ensuring Secure G20 Summit, East Java Police Rallies All Personnel in Banyuwangi

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Banyuwangi.  East Java Police Chief Inspector General Toni Harmanto together with Commander of the Military Region V Brawijaya, Major General Nurchahyanto, led the deployment of troops from the Indonesian Army, the National Police, and the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov) to carry out security operation of the G20 Summit on 15-16 November 2022. The troop deployment was attended by 709 joint personnel from the Indonesian Army and the National Police, Civil service Police Unit, Transportation Service, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Disaster Preparedness Cadets (TAGANA), Communication Center (Senkom), and the Indonesian Red Cross of Banyuwangi Regency.

“This rally is to build solidity and personnel preparedness in securing the G20 Summit. We have also prepared all units, including a special elite team," he said at Tanjung Wangi Port, Banyuwangi, as reported by liputan6.com, Monday (7/11/22).

On that occasion, the Commander of the Regional Military Command V Brawijaya said, Banyuwangi as one of the vital objects of the G20 needs tight security. Therefore, simulations and exercises continue to be prepared, to anticipate everything and anything that could hinder the international event. The event itself is the main forum for global economic cooperation consisting of countries with well developed economies.

“That internationtal forum represents more than 75% of world trade which will be attended by important figures, heads of state or heads of government of major countries. This is an honor for Indonesia. For this reason, our security must be optimized," he said.
