"The situation is now conducive. Some people are evacuating to Wamena", Chief of PR and Press Division of Papua Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, on Friday (09/07/2021).
Not only to Wamena, but some people are also evacuating to the nearby security posts.
"Some are still in Armed Forces-Police posts. People leaving Yalimo lives with their families", Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal said.
Chief of PR and Press Division of Papua Regional Police said that the incident was started when the mass suspected as supporters from candidate pair No. 01 watching the Constitutional Court's verdicts online about Yalimo Regency Elections in several places.
"After hearing the Constitutional Court's verdicts, they are not satisfied with the verdict that stated Regent Candidate Pair No. 1, Erdi Dabi and Jhon Wiliil in Yalimo Regency Election is disqualified. The mass then burned down several government buildings", the Middle Officer of Papua Regional Police said.
Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Musthofa Kamal encourages all sides to hold themselves to create a safe and conducive public security and order situation in Yalimo Regency.
