Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Medan. North Sumatra Regional Police asserts that they will firmly discipline thugs and extortions as a further follow up from the Chief of National Police's instruction to all Chief of Regional Police around the archipelago, including North Sumatra.
Chief of PR and Press Division of North Sumatra Regional Police said that North Sumatra Regional Police disciplines all forms of thuggery and extortion, mainly in harbour areas.
"What is clear is that North Sumatra Regional Police will follow up the policy. The Chief of Regional Police would indeed instruct all Departmental Police to follow up. Any places deemed as troubling, either due to thuggery or extortion, we will take appropriate measures", he concluded.
As information, the Indonesian President instructed the Chief of National Police after listening to complaints from truck drivers regarding the rampant extortion in Tanjung Priok harbour, North Jakarta. After called by the President, the Chief of National Police then instruct all Chiefs of Regional Police to act on thuggery and extortion actions.
