North Kalimantan Regional Police Successfully Revealed Circulation of 126 Kilograms of methamphetamine Managed by Prisoners

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Tanjung Selor. The Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditreskoba) of the North Kalimantan Regional Police revealed the circulation of 126 kilograms of methamphetamine from Malaysia which was controlled by inmates at the Class IIA Penitentiary Bontang, East Kalimantan.

From this disclosure, the Police managed to secure four people, namely SY (42), JE (38), AJ (27), and RE (41), who served as couriers.

In addition to the four suspects, the police also arrested a man with the initials DK who is currently serving a period of detention in Bontang Prison. DK is the controller of the methamphetamine distribution network, or the owner of the methamphetamine.

Director of Narcotics Investigation of North Kalimantan Regional Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Agus Yulianto said that the disclosure of the distribution of methamphetamine types of narcotics was a development of the investigation that led to two suspects SY (42) and JE (38) who were secured in a hotel, on Jalan Padat Karya, Tanjung Selor Village. East, Tanjung Selor District, Kaltara on Sunday (08/01/21).

"When our team conducted an inspection, we found 100 packs of methamphetamine weighing 126 kilograms which were placed by them (SY and JE) in a car parked in the hotel parking lot," said Pol. Grand Commissioner Agus Yulianto, Tuesday (08/10/21).

From the results of the interrogation of the suspect, he admitted that he got the methamphetamine from a friend named RC.

"There is still a Wanted List with the initials RC who has not been caught to this day and the person concerned has been made a Wanted List for a search," said the Director of Drug Investigation at the North Kalimantan Regional Police.

The five suspects were threatened with Article 114 paragraph (2) subs Article 112 paragraph (2) Jo. Article 132 (1) RI Law no. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum penalty of 5 years, and a maximum of life imprisonment or the death penalty.
