The National Police Went to Visit Earthquake Refugees in Cianjur and Have a Chat

Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Cianjur. National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo inspects several evacuation posts for Cianjur eartquake victims, Tuesday (11/22). The National Police Chief heard the complaints and absorbs the aspirations of the victims regarding the handling of disaster management.

"We have asked directly about what is their needs, because there are still many of those who are still here, evacuating. In here, there are around 31,000 refugees," said the National Police Chief at the Cianjur Police Station after inspecting the earthquake victim evacuation tents, Tuesday (11/22).

In his visit, the National Police Chief heard directly from the refugees about the need for clean water for bathing and daily necessities. After hearing this, the National Police Chief said that his party had prepared portable toilets and water treatment cars for them.

Apart from that, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that his party would also increase the availability of blankets and sleeping mats.

"In general, the handling of earthquake victims and the deployment of aid are running optimally. The process of distributing aid and other supporting infrastructure will be maximized after the route of Puncak to Cianjur is reopen," explained the National Police Chief.

The refugees also shared their sad stories during the earthquake to the National Police Chief after their houses had collapsed or were damaged by the earthquake. Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo then assured them that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had prepared assistance for those whose houses had collapsed.

“You should have registered your name to the village head because there will an aid from the President to reconstruct and rebuild your house. What’s important now is that you don’t have to worry too much about anything for now. This is a disaster for all us, and we have to sincerely accept it and pray for His blessings so that everything would ended up well,” said General Listyo.
