Port Gilimanuk Security Tightened Ahead December Holidays

It was predicted that the traffic on Bali entrance through Gilimanuk Port will surge in Christmas and New Year Eve. In response, port officials will tighten their security.

"In Jembrana, there will be Battalion C of Mobile Brigade Corps of Bali that will always be ready to secure the situation in Gilimanuk," said Bali Police Chief, Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putra, quoted from detik.com, Tuesday (12/20).

He says that this year's Christmas and New Year Eve will be far more different from 2021 and 2020, where in those two years there was a tight restrictions due to Covid-19 pandemic. He assessed that this year, there would be a huge mass of people travelling around Indonesia to enjoy their holidays.

He have already seen busy traffics from Java to Bali, and he deemed it necessary to manage it well. "Due to busy traffic in Gilimanuk, especially as Gilimanuk as Bali's security vanguard, we need to maintain its traffic flow really well," says the Police Chief.

Not just in Gilimanuk, but the national main routes along Denpasar-Gilimanuk will need to be maintained as well, meaning there will be a peak activity on Christmas eve and New Year eve. "This national main routes should not be disturbed and must be maintained well," says the Two Star General.

The Operatuon ofsafety and security will also involved many others, such as Search and Rescue Agency and Regional Disaster Management Agency of Jembrana in preparing additional equipment for disaster anticipation strategy.
