Invited by the Police, Nine Former KPK Employees Appreciate the Intentions of the National Police Chief

Jakarta: The Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector-General Argo Yuwono, said that nine representatives of former Indonesian Eradication Corruption (KPK) employees met with the Human Resources Assistant (AS SDM) of the National Police to discuss further the desire of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to withdraw them as ASN ( Civil Servant ) in the National Police.

"We invite their representatives to the Police Headquarters. The meeting took place in the AS HR room. First, the National Police HR Assistant, then Chief of Legal Administration Division, and also the Expert Staff Coordinator and Head of Public Relations," said Argo told reporters at the National Police Headquarter, Monday night (10/04/2021).

The nine representatives of former KPK employees include Farid, Chandra, Feri and Giri Suprapdiono. In the fluid and warm meeting, the National Police, with representatives of former KPK employees, had a long discussion, one of which was the technical regulation of recruitment which would later involve experts.

Argo said, in principle, that the meeting between the National Police and former KPK employees will continue to produce a decision that both parties equally expect immediately. Argo said, the results of the meeting, representatives of former KPK employees appreciated the good intentions of the National Police who wanted to accommodate them.

"Of the nine people, they appreciated what the hope of the National Police Chief was. Later there will be another meeting, and we will involve experts. So hope as soon as possible to be able to reach a decision," said Argo.

Previously, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that he was ready to recruit 57 former KPK employees to become Civil Assistant at the Directorate of Corruption Crimes (Dittipidkor) of the National Police-Criminal Investigation Department. This offer is a solution from Sigit for not being sworn in as KPK's Civil Assistant.

"We sent a letter to the President asking for 56 people who did the National Insight test who did not pass the test and were not appointed by the KPK's Civil Assistant so that we could withdraw them later and recruit them to become National Police's Civil Assistant," Sigit told reporters, Tuesday (09/28).

Sigit said that this proposal had also been approved by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The reply letter was sent by the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensesneg) on 27 September 2021.

"In principle, he agreed to the 56 KPK employees to become National Police's Civil Assistant," he added.

In the letter, Jokowi gave instructions for the National Police to coordinate with the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB) and the State Civil Service Agency (BKN). Currently, the recruitment mechanism is still being discussed together.
