Indonesia National Police Investigates the Case of Drug and Oxygen Cylinders Hoarding During Covid-19 Pandemic

Director of Economic and Special Crimes of Criminal Investigation Unit of Indonesian National Police, Police Brigadier General Helmy Santika explained that police is investigating increasing price of drug and drug hoarding as well as increasing price oxygen cylinders in the midst of Covid-19 pandemic.

This includes cases of Covid-19 health protocol violations. However, for the time being he has not been able to reveal detail number of these cases.

"Regarding drugs, oxygen cylinders, and quarantine," Police Brigadier General Helmy Santika explained, Jakarta, Wednesday (07/07/21).

Director of Economic and Special Crimes of Criminal Investigation Unit of Indonesian National Police emphasized mentioned police will take firm action to enforce the law against perpetrators who deliberately seek big profits in Covid-19 pandemic condition. Perpretator will get more than five years imprisoned.

"Team is moving to carry out an investigation," the One Star General said.

Chief of Indonesia National Police, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has issued telegram number ST/1373/VII/H.U.K/7.1./2021 on taking decisive action to people who increase the price and hoarding drugs as well as medical equipments. The document was signed by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Indonesia National Police, General Commissioner Agus Andrianto.
