Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri, accompanied by General Chair of Love People Movement (Gerakan Cinta Rakyat/Gencar) held social service for Indonesian Street Vendors Association (APKLI) Palembang, at Grand Permai Complex, Alang-alang Lebar District, Palembang, Sunday (08/01/2021).
The activity was also attended by Director of Intelligence and Security of South Sumatera Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ratno Kuncoro, Deputy Director of Community Guidance and Development of South Sumatera Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Azam, and Chairperson of Regional Boards (DPD) of Palembang Indonesian Street Vendors Association (APKLI), Harmoko.
"Alhamdulillah, this is empathy from community to community, who are affected by Covid-19. Moreover, informal traders and street vendors may be economically affected," Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police explained.
The two-star general said this activity can also provide motivation for other people, who have or are willing to make donation to help people of Palembang. This is extraordinary.
"This Covid-19, the disease affects everyone it. Therefore, people must at least obey to wear masks, washing hands, maintaining distance (3M). These must be adhered to properly," Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police explained.
Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police said this is not for government’s interest, but for people. Covid-19 is common enemy, so once again we must collaborate to overcome Covid-19 pandemic.
"I hope this assistance can lighten the burden of people who have direct impact. This is also manifestation of our concern for the people who are affected, and can motivate people who provide assistance to our community," Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police explained.
