Governor of South Sumatera Appreciated South Sumatera Regional Police that Advised Agencies to Provide Oxygen

Governor of South Sumatera, Herman Deru appreciated the steps taken by Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General Eko Indra S who invites agencies to fight and take participation to supply oxygen and disinfectant in the middle of Covid-19 condition.

"I really appreciate the steps taken by Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police who invites agencies to fight and provide various needs in the middle of Covid-19 condition, especially the need for oxygen and disinfectants," the Governor said in his remarks while receiving aids from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of PT OKI. Pulp and Paper Mills group to South Sumatera Regional Police, Monday (07/12).

He said his party was very grateful because in this kind Covid-19 situation, there is still concern to share. He expects it could continue in the future. "I hope this does not end here, but we all have the same obligation to share and help others like this," he said.

Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri S. said it was a joint work of local government, Indonesia National Police, Indonesia National Armed Forces and health agency.

"In this case, we only facilitate and oversee, while the distribution arrangements for hospitals will be handled by South Sumatera Health Agency," he explained.

He ensures oxygen availability in South Sumatera is secured. "We clarify oxygen in South Sumatera is secured, but the oxygen cylinders are difficult because they are imported" he said.

Chief of South Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General Eko Indra Heri S. received 1000 liters Disinfectant and Liquid Oxygen Assistance from PT OKI Pulp and Paper Mils, which were handed over at the Promoter Building Yard of South Sumatera Police Headquarter.

The Sinar Mas group donated materials to make disinfectants both inside and outside the door.

"This is certainly beneficial for us to help the community as well as for the internal police. We know this disease can spread everywhere and this is one of the efforts, not the only one," he added.

Liquid oxygen will be given to hospitals in South Sumatera . Sinar Mas group will also send it to the nearest province, that is West Java.

"This is CSR from Sinar Mas group. We hope with current condition the community together according to their ability and authority can help government to overcome Covid-19," he said.

At the same place, representative from Board of Director of OKI Pulp and Paper Mills (PT Sinar Mas Group) Gadang Harto Hartawan explained they have prepared 1000 liters of disinfectant which can later be mixed with 200 liters of water per liter.

"We also have commitment if there is a need for disinfectants from Indonesian National Police, we are ready to procure it again, which means this will be continuous and we hope after the pandemic is over, we will continue to provide support related to disinfectants and oxygen," he concluded.
