Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Gorontalo. Gorontalo Regional Police held the ceremony of Covud-19 tracer training in order to support Covid-19 handling acceleration in Gorontalo province.
The ceremony was led by the Chief of Gorontalo Regional Police, Police Inspector General Akhmad Wiyagus, attended by the Deputy Chief, Police Brigadier General Pudji Prasetijanto, and Primary Officials of Gorontalo Regional Police.
In his initial statement, the Chief of Gorontalo Regional Police said that Covid-19 transmission in Gorontalo is increasing. Therefore, effective tracing activity by the tracers is essential in operating 3T (test, trace, treatment) to recognise the Covid-19 transmission pattern.
Chief of Gorontalo Regional Police appreciated the personnel and volunteers involved in Covid-19 tracer training.
These 3T activities are intertwined. The tracing would continue to testing and continued to treatment. I appreciate the Community Police Tracers and Non-commissioner Officer Tracers and also included recently appointed Non-commissioner Officers that would be involved in accordance with Chief of Police policies to support government's policies in avoiding further Covid-19 transmission", Chief of Regional Police said.
Furthermore, the Chief of Regional Police said that the tracers from the Non-commissioned Officer, Community Police, and newly-appointed Non-commissioned Officer could not work alone without team consists of many stakeholders.
"Instructions and teachings from the trainers must be conducted responsibly because any countries, including Indonesia, have faced the Covid-19 pandemic and has been a social symptom that could trigger social change, which becomes our job", he added.
On the same occasion, Chief of PR and Press Agency of Gorontalo Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Wahyu Tri Cahyono, said that in Covid-19 handling, Gorontalo Regional Police has prepared 633 tracers, consisted of 376 from Community Police Unit, 207 from newly-appointed Non-commissioner Officer, and 50 from volunteers.
"They would be trained as a tracer to trace anyone who had a history of close contact with person tested positive for Covid-19. Afterwards, the tested positive person would undergo testing by medical teams. If the test returned positive, the person would send to treatment facilities. By the presence of 3T (tracing, testing, treatment), Covid-19 transmission could be minimised", he concluded.
