Tribratanews.polri.go.id – Gorontalo. Gorontalo Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Akhmad Wiyagus, said that the role of the community, in general, is needed in handling and preventing the transmission of COVID-19 in the region.

“We hope that there will be participation from the community, don't wait for this epidemic like what happened in Java. Keep our eyes open, it's better to prevent than we experience the same thing,” explained the Gorontalo Police Chief, Thursday (09/07).

The Kapolda explained that currently there is a COVID-19 cluster at Gorontalo Djalaludin Airport which shows about 100 positive cases of COVID-19. "This is real, COVID-19 in Gorontalo is starting to increase, let's together suppress its spread through community participation, if you only expect officers, you will not be able to," said the Gorontalo Police Chief.

The Regional Police Chief stated that the Gorontalo Regional Police fully support the local government in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Gorontalo Province. "I have ordered all police chiefs to carry out enforcement together with Municipal Police, as I previously said, we support Municipal Police," said the Gorontalo Police Chief.
