Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Serang. Welcoming the 75th Bhayangkara Day, Banten Regional Police held Focus Group Discussion (FGD) held in the vicon room of Banten Regional Police Headquarters. This FGD was conducted to response cases of violence and crime and sexual deviance against children and women that occurred in Banten Regional Police jurisdiction.
Chief of Banten Regional Police, Police Inspector General Rudy Heriyanto, said this FGD aims to form a pioneer of kampong that cares for women and children.
"This pioneer kampong that cares for women and children safety aims to reduce number of violence, crimes and sexual deviations against women and children," Chief of Banten Regional Police explained.
Based on data obtained from the Directorate of General Crime of Banten Regional Police, during the period of 2019 to 2021 there have been 571 cases and 293 cases have been settled. 458 cases of sexual abuse against children and 237 cases have been settled. 98 cases of domestic violence with 48 cases have been setlled. 15 cases of violence against children and 8 cases have been settled.
Chief of Banten Regional Police said this physical and sexual violence has brought prolonged trauma to the victims, so it is hoped the formation of support (care) groups in a environment that is prone to violence (crimes) against children and women at the RT, RW, Village or Sub-district, District, Regency and City levels, can reduce the violence number.
"Let's use this FGD as momentum to strengthen synergies based on high commitment and integrity to formulate the right solution and develop ways to act quickly in preventing the occurrence of criminal acts of violence against women and children," Chief of Banten Regional Police said.
