The inauguration was attended by Pekanbaru City Departmental Police, Police Grand Commissioner H. Nandang Mu'min Wijaya, as the Chief Protector of Drugs-Free Resilient Village and Primary Officials of Pekanbaru City Departmental Police and its subordinates in Sectoral Police, Deputy Mayor of Pekanbaru, H. Ayat Cahyadi, Deputy Chairman of Pekanbaru Regional People Representative Assembly, Ginda Burnama, Commander of 0301 Military District, Infantry Colonel Muh. Mustafaq, and other invitees.
Chief of Riau Regional Police said that 24 people had been arrested for drug cases during the last year. The problem is very complex due to economic problems, so they tend to do illicit ways to earn money.
The two-star general explained that the way to settle the problems, and as a Chief of Police's initiation, then he and the stakeholders are intended to eradicate drug problems in Pekanbaru, mainly in the Kampung Dalam area.
Chief of Riau Regional Police said that the command post is established to observe people's activities in the Kampung Dalam subdistrict, so the area becomes free from drugs and drugs trading.
"I will not declare this village as a Drugs Village because there are still mosques with its imams, caretakers, and worshippers when I arrive. This means people living here have faith", the Chief of Riau Regional Police said.
Chief of Riau Regional Police also said that there are still many people who have not understood and moved to help to eradicate drugs, mainly in Kampung Dalam.
"Let's start to help and take care of this village to become a good one, and I believe we can do this. There is no reason that drugs are beneficial. Its existence even banned in our scriptures, and we have to eradicate the drugs", Chief of Riau Regional Police said.
