"If there is a Covid-19 vaccination event, the SOP must be put into attention. If the event causes crowd, we will close them", the Chief of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police said on Friday in relation to the Covid-19 vaccination event on several locations, especially at Kemenkes Health Polytechnics of Kupang that induces crowd and long queues.
Moreover, in a viral video, people who want to get vaccinated were forced to breach the campus fence until the fence fell.
"The temporary halt of the vaccination event is for the vaccination organizers who do not comply with SOPs for public safety", the Chief of Regional Police said.
Therefore, the Chief of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police appeals institutions that will hold the Covid-19 vaccination event in the context of vaccination acceleration to coordinate with the Covid-19 Task Force and Police long before the event start.
The coordination, according to the Chief of Regional Police, is to avoid crowd and chaos as happened several days ago in Kupang, which may lead to a new Covid-19 transmission cluster.
"Do not let the good deeds followed up by poor planning, execution, and security so it will lead to new clusters and public disappointment", the Chief of Regional Police said.
Furthermore, according to the Chief of Regional Police, East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police also evaluates several Covid-19 vaccination events.
