Tribratanews.polri.go.id- Kupang. Chief of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Inspector General Lotharia Latif ordered Directorate of Special Crimes Investigation to check the availability of oxygen cylinders for Covid-19 patients. This follows up on reports of medical oxygen shortage.
Directorate of Special Crimes Investigation of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police checked CV Kawan Kita company in Kupang to collect data. There is total stock of 1,400 six-cubic oxygen cylinders, and number of fillings per day is 200 six-cubic tubes. Filling oxygen per cylinder costs IDR 150,000.
Meanwhile, Multi Guna distributor has prepared 80 gas cylinders with the size of one cubic for IDR 1,800,000 per cylinder.
Then distributor Mitra Jaya Abadi Mandiri provides eight gas cylinders, with the size of one cubic per tube for IDR 1,500,000. Then distributor Surya Bangunan provides total stock of 700 gas cylinders of six cubic and one container is on the way. Oxygen filled per tube is IDR 150,000.
For Distributor Samator provides total stock of 80 gas cylinders of six cubic size, with the number of fillings per day 200 six cubic gas cylinders. Oxygen filled per tube for Rp. 150,000.
Meanwhile, W&W pharmacy provides three gas cylinders, with size of six cubic and one cubic. Per tube at a price of IDR 900,000 to IDR 2,000,000.
Head of Public Affairs of the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Rishian Krisna Budhiaswanto ensured there is no shortage of oxygen cylinders, as information spread in the community. Producers have agreed to meet the market demand.
He also said police would not hesitate to take firm action if there is any sellers who hoard the oxygen to raising up the price.
"If we find it in the field, we will take firm action. We have coordinated with producers and also with distributors, they do not increase the price," he said, Tuesday (07/06).
He also said Chief of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police also advises the public to remain calm and not panic.
"Therefore, we ask public not to panic about the availability of oxygen cylinders. [We have reminded] Oxygen sellers in the jurisdiction of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police not to stockpile, nor increase the prices amid soaring demand. If that happens, police will take action," he closed the interview.
