During Micro PPKM, South Sulawesi Police Keep Strictly At the Border

Tribratanews..polri.go.id-Palembang. The South Sumatra Regional Police strictly guarded the entrance to the city of Palembang during the tightening period of the implementation of restrictions on micro-based community activities (PPKM).

The Chief of the South Sumatra Regional Police, Inspector General Pol Eko Indra Heri said the guard was carried out thoroughly, including at the toll gate connecting Palembang with Lampung.

"Personnel from the Resort Police and the ranks are already on standby to tighten the entrance to Palembang," he said, Monday (12/7/2021).

The South Sumatra Police Chief explained that his party was also coordinating with the Indonesian Amry and the local government.

He even built a post at the Palembang border entrance. "We are also helping Lampung, which is currently implementing emergency PPKM. That's why we built a command post and put personnel on guard at the entrance and exit of the toll road, "he said.

The South Sumatra Police Chief explained that this tightening was almost the same as during the last Eid al-Fitr. In fact, every community who wants to enter Palembang is asked first with what interests.

People who want to enter Palembang must also show administration and proof of antigen testing. "This is to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in South Sumatra," he said.

In addition, for people who are not interested, his party asked them to turn back. It is known that until now the city of Palembang is still listed as a red zone for the spread of Covid-19.

Therefore, the efforts made by the South Sumatra Police and related parties are considered very appropriate to be able to suppress the spread of Covid-19 in South Sumatra.

Meanwhile, the Director of Traffic Management, South Sumatra Police, Pol. Grand Commissioner Cornelis Ferdinan Hotman Sirait, said the rules for antigen examination and rapid tests were applied simultaneously at the borders of 17 regencies/cities in South Sumatra.

For Palembang and Lubuk Linggau currently carrying out odd-even on the main sections in the city. The rest, such as OKI and OI, which are toll road crossings, also carry out PCR checks and vaccines for motorists.

"For motor biker who have not vaccinated or swabbed, we will direct them to the nearest health center to undergo an examination," he said.
