Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Kendari. The Directorate of Water and Air of the Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police foiled an attempt to smuggle 4.2 tons of premium fuel oil and diesel to Central Sulawesi region.
Director of Directorate of Water and Air of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Suryo Aji aid that 1.2 tons of premium fuel and 3 tons of diesel loaded by boat in Tanjung Toronipa waters, Soropia District, Konawe Regency, Sunday, at 03.00 Indonesia Central Time, succeeded to secure by Special Team of Water and Air.
"It is suspected that the fuel was not only circulated to local residents but was allegedly diverted to Central Sulawesi region," Director of Directorate of Water and Air of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police explained through the release of Directorate of Water and Air of Southeast Sulawesi Regional, Sunday (06/27).
The arrests began when Water and Air Team of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police received information from the community in Soropia District, especially in Mekar Village and Bukhori Village, which always experienced fuel shortages.
Whereas in that area there is an oil and diesel supply agent (APMS) who always gets supply of fuel for the area, three times a week from Pertamina tank cars.
The fuel was secured by Water and Air Team of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police, led by Brigadier Rahmad and two other members, Brigadier Abdur Rahmanuddin and Bharaka Triskar Kaharuddin from longboat KM Rizki Bajo while on patrol around the waters of Soropia District.
"The ship carrying passengers is known to be carrying fuel without being equipped with valid documents, which are filled in jerry cans," he explained.
Besides confiscating 4.2 BBM, his team also arrested two suspects initials N (50) and R (25).
"Both of them and evidence were taken into custody and taken to Water and Air Directorate Headuarter of Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police for further examination," he said.
Both of them are suspected of violating Law Number 11 Year 2020 on Job Creation regarding Amendments to Law Number 22 Year 2001 concerning Oil and Gas Article 55 with a penalty of six years in prison and a maximum fine of IDR 60 billion.
