Complete File, Indonesia National Police Handed Over Nganjuk Regent and 6 other Suspects to Nganjuk State Attorney

JAKARTA - Directorate of Corruption Crimes of Crimes Investigation Agency of Indonesia National Police has submitted evidence and suspects of bribery case of buying and selling positions within Nganjuk Regency Government, East Java Province to Public Prosecutor of Attorney General's Office (Kejagung).

Head of the Public Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police, Police Inspector General Argo Yuwono, mentioned the files of Nganjuk Regent Novi Rahman Hidayat and six other suspects were complete or P-21. They were immediately taken to Nganjuk to be handed over to Attorney General's Office at Nganjuk District Attorney's Office.

"On July 5, Attorney General Office mentioned the investigation file or P-21 is completed. Today he arrived in Surabaya accompanied by Public Prosecutor from the Attorney General's Office and headed to Nganjuk via land transportation with strict health protocols," Argo told reporters, Jakarta, Thursday (07/08/2021).

With the Phase II process being carried out, Nganjuk Regent and six other suspects will soon be brought to trial.

During the investigation process, Argo said, investigators from Directorate of Corruption Crimes of Crimes Investigation Agency of Indonesia National Police examined 49 witnesses, three expert witnesses and conducted searches and confiscated number of money and documents.

"Furthermore, the seven suspects were detained by Attorney General's Office at East Java Regional Police's state detention house," Argo said.

In this case, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and Crimes Investigation Agency of Indonesia National Police have decided Nganjuk Regent Novi Rahman Hidayat (NRH) as suspect in alleged bribery related to filling positions within Nganjuk Regency Government, East Java Province.

KPK and Crimes Investigation Agency of Indonesia National Police also arrested six other suspects.

They are Head of Pace Sub-District Dupriono (DR), Head of Tanjunganom Acting of Head of Sukomoro District Edi Srijato (ES), Head of Berbek Sub-District Haryanto (HY), Head of Loceret Sub-district Bambang Subagio (BS), Former Head of Sukomoro Sub-district Tri Basuki Widodo (TBW), Ngajuk Regent Adjutant M. Izza Muhtadin.

In this case, Nganjuk Regent and his aides were suspected of Article 5 paragraph (2) and/or Article 11 and/or Article 12B of Law Number 31 Year 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption which was amended and added through Law Number 20 Year 2021 on Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 on Corruption Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code.
