In cooperation with North Sumatera Regional Police, college students of seven alliances of Nusantara Student Executive Board held a vaccination event for students and college students in UMN Al Washilyah campus on Friday (06/08/21). This event targeted 2,000 college students from several universities in Medan and its surroundings.
Central Coordinator of Student Executive Council (DEMA) of State Islamic University (PTKIN), Onky Fachrur Rozie, said that this vaccination event is our form of student's effort and humanity service and supporting the government in achieving national vaccine target to reach herd immunity and recover Indonesia from Covid-19 pandemic.
In line with Onku, Nur Eko Suhardana, the Coordinator of National Presidium of Student Executive Board (Koorpresnas) of Indonesian Muhammadiyah Universities (BEM PTMI), said that vaccination is a form of collaboration between students and related stakeholders (Police) and an effort to help the government achieve herd immunity.
Besides that, the vaccination event held by college students and North Sumatera Regional Police is hoped to be an example for all campuses in Indonesia, especially in North Sumatra.
Meanwhile, Chief of North Sumatera Regional Police, Police Inspector General Panca Putra Simanjuntak, appreciated the mass vaccination initiated by students and the alliance of Student Executive Boards. According to him, the Covid-19 vaccination forms body immunity for the students to avoid Covid-19 exposure.
Not only that, but the Chief of Regional Police also support and hope the vaccination in North Sumatra has achieved the target so offline studying activities could start again.
For the vaccination event held today, 2,000 students have participated from various campuses and student alliances.
Central Coordinator of Nusantara Student Executive Board, Dimas Prayoga, said this is the fifth location from the national vaccination roadmap that the alliance conducted. Many places will follow soon.
"A vaccination event is a form of our commitment to contribute in achieving herd immunity in community-level so we could pass these tough times", he said.
