Tribratanews.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. Riau Regional Police launched Fast Hunting Ship (KPC) IV Lancang Kuning to hunt down ghost ships that carried out illegal activities in the sea and several rivers in the Riau Province area.
The launching was led directly by the Governor of Riau Drs Syamsuar MSi and accompanied by the Chief of Riau Regional Police, Police Inspector General Agung Setia Imam Effendi, Deputy Chief of Riau Regional Police Brigadier General Tabana Bangun, Commander Military Region 031/WB Brigadier General M Syech Ismed SE MHan at the Directorate of Water and Air of Riau Regional Police, Wednesday (06/30/21).
Police Inspector-General Agung Setia Imam Effendi explained that this fast hunting ship has 45 knots, consisting of 4 engines capable of surviving on the sea for specific missions for 14 days. They were made of flat aluminium alloy steel and some fibreglass.
This Fast Hunting Ship will be placed in a location that is quite prone to law violations in the Riau region. Moving around according to intelligence monitoring and specifically for ghost ships carrying out illegal activities that violate the law in the waters. Arresting and strict actions will be carried out.
At the same place, the Governor of Riau, Syamsuar, explained Riau waters, especially in North Rupat, are international cruise ship crossings and Indonesia, especially Riau, has spoken with neighbour countries the cruise ships to stop by in Riau. It is a way to increase economic and tourism cooperation. Security for the ships is guaranteed.
The Governor of Riau expected the Directorate of Water and Air of Riau Regional Police to improve security on the sea crossed by the international cruise ship.
