JAKARTA - Commander of Armed Forces, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, Chief of Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and the Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU), KH. Said Aqil Siradj, visited the mass vaccination event in Al-Mahbubiyah Foundation.
The mass vaccination event to accelerate towards herd immunity towards the Coronavirus was held in cooperation with the Armed Forces, Police, and Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Board (PWNU) of Jakarta Capital Region at the Al-Mahbubiyah Foundation on Jeruk Purut road, Cilandak Timur, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (7/7/2021).
"The honourable, Chairman of the PBNU, Sir Said Aqil Siradj, thank you, sir, that the Commander (of the Armed Forces) and we continue to accelerate vaccination, and Thanks to God, we are now can collaborate with the NU", Sigit said after the visit.
To accelerate herd immunity targeted by the government, Sigit has instructed all Armed Forces and Police personnel to collaborate with NU members in Indonesia to hold mass vaccination events.
"So this collaboration is expected not only in the capital but also all over Indonesia, where the NU existed. We have instructed our personnel to collaborate", the Former Chief of Banten Regional Police said.
With the collaboration together with NU members throughout the country, Sigit is optimistic that the government target to achieve herd immunity can be reached.
"So that acceleration to achieve government's target at the end of July can be reached. At the beginning of July we reached 1 million, so perhaps by the end of July and August, we can pass 2 million people per day, and for October and November becomes 3 million people vaccinated per day", the Former Chief of Criminal Investigation Agency of Indonesian National Police said.
In line with the Chief of Police, The Commander of the Armed Forces also sent its appreciations to NU because they are willing to actively involve in the mass vaccination programme to accelerate the herd immunity target.
"Thanks to God, we are now conducting the government's programme, which is a simultaneous national mass vaccination event", Hadi said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of PBNU, Said Aqil Siradj, appreciated the hard work of the Armed Forces-Police personnel in accelerating towards herd immunity for Indonesian people in facing Coronavirus.
He said that NU is ready and will always support mass vaccination programmes as a form of service to the nation and country.
"Our works for God as the Religious Society Organisation, selfless society, is a true service for the nation and country. Mainly, cooperating with related parties in the context of shared responsibility and concern", Said Aqil concludes.
